How dermal fillers work
Premium dermal fillers Juvaderm and Restilane ,Belotero are injected in small controlled dose just under the surface of the skin of the area to be treated. Dermal fillers are naturally-derived or synthetic material that is directly injected into the skin with the purpose of plumping that area to the point where the wrinkle, depression, or fold is gone.  This fills out the sunken areas and lines to give a smoother, firmer and more refreshed appearance. Depending on the type of the dermal filler used, results can last from 6 to 24 months.

Sculpture is injected into the deep dermis and helps to replace lost collagen. It is one time treatment of up to 4 injection sessions. These are usually scheduled about 3 weeks apart. The results can last for more than 2 years.

What does dermal filler treatment involve?
Small amount of dermal filler are injected directly into the skin using an ultrafine needle. After cleansing the area to be treated, a numbing cream will be applied. This ensures the injections administered by the qualified doctor or a nurse will only cause minor discomfort.
The gel administered helps to plump up the skin to smooth out lines and wrinkles. If the lips or facial contours are being treated, the filler adds volume, restores shape and gives a fuller, fresher appearance.

Dermal filler treatments are only carried out by fully qualified doctors and nurses in our modern regulated clinic.

Duration and recovery
Afterwards, there might be a small amount of swelling which will quickly subside. Depending on the area treated. It usually takes no longer than 30 minutes and you can leave the clinic as soon as you are ready to do so.

No recovery time is required after dermal filler treatment and you can return to day to day activities straight away. You may experience some slight swelling or bruising to the area being injected and typically doesn’t last longer than 48 hours. How do Restylane Skinboosters work?
 
 - The first step is to find a qualified aesthetic healthcare professional. Restylane treatments should only be administered by a trained medical healthcare professional.

 - At your first appointment your practitioner will have an in-depth consultation to assess your needs.  Before any Restylane Skinbooster treatment, your practitioner will provide you a treatment plan and ensure you know what to expect from a treatment.
 - Before treatment your practitioner will take your medical history and consent.

 - During a treatment your aesthetic healthcare practitioner will give a series of tiny injections into the skin, made more comfortable with an anaesthetic called lidocaine included in the products using a very fine needle or cannula.  These hydrating micro-droplets of Restylane Vital or Restylane Vital Light , will after an initial course of treatments give visible improvements in the skin's appearance.

 - After treatment your practitioner will advise you on aftercare.  Some people experience some post-treatment discomfort, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the treatment site.  This typically subsides after a few days but may last up to two weeks.

What is Restylane SubQ?
Restylane SubQ is hyaluronic acid specially formulated for facial contour and reshaping. Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that is found in the connective tissue of our skin and along with collagen forms the building blocks of healthy tissues. The gel in Restylane SubQ biodegrades naturally and safely over time. Restylane is one of the most popular facial fillers in the world today and has been used in over 10 million treatments. It has a proven safety record.

What is Juverm Voluma?
Juvéderm Voluma is the latest generation of hyaluronic acid (HA) volumisers from Juvederm and is specifically developed to restore lost facial volume (e.g. in the cheeks, cheekbones, and chin). The product was developed to be a very smooth hyaluronic acid (HA) volumisers, making it easier to inject during treatment and resulting in a smooth, natural look and feel. What does the procedure involve?
Prior the treatment :
The area is cleaned with antiseptic and marked using a marker pen to decide on the optimum site for enhancement. Numbing cream can be applied if patients prefer for additional comfort.

Treatment :
The new injection technique has allowed the treatment to be very comfortable and not neccessarilryneed any topical anesthetic. Juvederm VOLUMA/Restylane SubQ is slowly injected to place the filler above the cheek bone. Further product may be placed laterally in the cheek to further enhance the contour depending on the natural shape of your cheek. The result is immediate and will last about up to 18 months. However, due to the immediate swelling from the procedure the final result will not be seen until about 3-4 weeks. A plan for regular follow-up treatments to maintain the initial result can be created for you. Post treatment :
It is advised to lay on your back for the first 2-3 nights sleep to avoid pressure on the treated area.

As we age, many people experience two little indentations that occur on the jaw line directly below the outside corners of their mouth, from the sagging down of lower cheek skin. These indentations, or notches, interrupt the smoothness of the jaw line and can give it a shape that looks a little bit like an “S.” Medically this is called prejowl sulcus. When we are young, the jaw line from ear to chin is smooth.

What is Dermal filler?
Dermal fillers are materials that are frequently used to correct scarring, line, fold and other depressions in the skin. Which type of dermal filler is used during the treatment?
The most common dermal filler used is a temporary filler called Hyaluronic acid (such as Restylane and Juvederm)

Hyaluronic acid is one of nature’s most versatile and fascinating substances. It is found throughout the body as well as in most other living organisms. It has many functions, from giving the skin elasticity and providing our skin with volume, giving it a youthful appearance. Restylane and Juvederm are sterile gels consisting of non-animal, cross-linked, hyaluronic acid (HA) and are made in a laboratory. They contain no human or animal DNA and have the best safety profile of all the fillers currently on the market as it is the only type of filler that is reversible.These products are FDA approved for use in the nasolabial fold and are used “off-label” in other areas.

What does the dermal filler injection involve?

Prior the treatment : Topical anaesthetic will be applied for up to 30 minutes prior the treatment to make the area numb

The procedure : Dermal filler is injected at precise locations into your skin. The doctor/nurse will then massage to smooth the product. During the procedure, you are fully awake. You will be given a mirror to hold to enable you to see the results as the doctor completes the treatment.

Post treatment :  You should avoid touching or applying make up on the treated area for 6 hours in order to prevent infection. Specific post treatment instructions will be given to you on the day of your treatment by our Clinic Coordinator
The results are immediate and last from 6-12 months. As the results are relatively temporary, adjustments can be made as your face changes over time and you will always retain a natural look.

Is there any side effects?
After the treatment(s) some common injection-related reactions might occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously within 2 to 10 days. Mild bruising or a slight blush might appear at the injection site immediately following treatment and may last for 2-10 days. Dermal fillers are NOT to be used during pregnancy.

How do I avoid bruising?

To avoid swelling and bruising, you should:

• Not take aspirin, exedrin, ibuprofen, aleve or advil for 1 week before and 2 days after treatment. Tylenol is always fine

• Not take Vitamin E (multivitamin ok) or St. John’s Wort for 2-3 days before or after

• Avoid exercise except for walking for 24 hours after the procedure

• Take arnica tablets up to 2 weeks prior to the treatment

How long will the results last?

The result last 9-12 months.

The procedure

Prior treatment : numbing cream will be applied on the treating areas for 20 minutes.Treatment: pre-mixed Sculptra will be injected. The serie of injections on the treating areas will be performed by our Sculptra specialist doctor.

Post treatment : the doctor will then massage the treated areas to spread the product more evenly.
The treatment take about 30 minutes.

Does the treatment hurt?
As with all injections, some discomfort is inevitable, and you may feel a brief burning sensation at the injection site. Topical aneasthetic wiil be applied to prevent any discomfort. Also, Sculptra will be mixed with aneasthetic which makes the treatment even more comfortable.

What happens after the treatment?
As your aftercare instructions will explain, for optimum effects massage the treated area twice daily for one month after treatment.

Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects are tenderness or pain, redness, bruising, swelling or bleeding at the injection site. These side effects generally disappear in 1-2 days. One possible delayed side effect with Sculptra® can be small bumps under the skin at the treated area. These may not be visible, and you may only notice them when you press on the treated skin. The bumps sometimes disappear of their own accord and can be avoid by post treatment massage. As with all procedures that involve an injection through the skin, there is risk of infection that easily prevent by avoid touching or apply any make up on the treated areas for at least 6 hours after the treatment.

Are the results from Sculptra treatment immediate?
Sculptra® takes time to work, with the results becoming noticeable after about six weeks.It may appear to have an effect immediately after your first treatment visit, but this is because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra®. When the swelling goes down after a few days and the water is absorbed by your body, you may look as you did before treatment. Two or three treatments are usually necessary to obtain the desired result. However, unlike some other treatments that require refresher sessions, the results can last for up to two years after the end of your Sculptra® programme. The results can differ depending on age, wrinkling and the type of procedure used.
