A low concentration of Trichlororoacetic Acid is mixed with a special blue base to ensure an even, uniform distribution prior to application.  Obagi Blue Skin Peel allows the Doctor/Nurse  to regulate the depth of the peel to remove surface layers of aged and damaged skin.  These dead cells are replaced by healthier ones, allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface.

Obagi Blue Skin Peel is an ideal treatment for anyone who wants to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, severe pigmentation, adult acne and acne scarring to achieve visible, significant results.  Prior to your treatment you will have a free consultation where all your questions are answered by a nurse counsellor and you are assessed for your suitability to proceed.

HOW IS AN OBAGI BLUE SKIN PEEL PERFORMED? 
Obagi Blue Skin Peel is a quick, relatively simple and tolerable treatment which in most cases does not require sedation.  The skin is prepped and cleansed and application takes between 30-45 minutes, depending on the number of coats your Doctor has determined are necessary for you.   
Slight shedding should occur within three days and is expected to last for a week or so, but this is a natural side effect of cell renewal, so nothing to be worried about.  Once your skin has completed the shedding process, you will immediately notice the dramatic results of your skin's appearance over the next four to six weeks becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful.

WILL I EXPERIENCE ANY PAIN DURING MY TREATMENT?
A mild to warm sensation may be experienced for a few minutes whilst Obagi Blue Skin Peel is being applied on your skin by the Doctor but is not expected to cause any severe pain.   After the treatment the area of skin may redden and feel tight.
 

What do I need to consider after I've had my treatment?

 Some patients choose to take a week or so from work during the shedding process.  Some itching and tingling of the skin may also be experienced during this time.  Make-up should only be applied after the skin is completely healed.
We recommend patients to avoid exposure to the sun or UV rays so applying a strong SPF is essential.  Potential running or picking of loose skin may lead to scarring.  It is advised for patients once the skin has healed to continue using Obagi Nu-Derm System products as part of an overall maintenance program.

How often do I need to have Obagi Blue Skin Peel treatments?
 Your Doctor can advise how many treatments are necessary to give you your desired result.  In most cases, between one and three Obagi Blue Skin Peel treatments can achieve dramatic improvements for many skin types and conditions.  Obagi Blue Skin Peels can be performed, according to different strengths anything between six and twenty-six weeks intervals until your desired goals are reached.

 

What should I expect?
 The Obagi Blue Skin Peel is a quick, relatively simple and highly tolerable procedure that in most cases, does not require sedation. Application of the Obagi Blue Peel takes about 20 minutes, depending on the number of coats your Docto/Nurse  has determined are necessary to achieve your goals.
